Download Bevis Frond Son Of Walter Rar

Straight from Nick, at 'bevisfrond@yahoogroups.com'Just thought you might like to know the progress of the new album. It's all recorded and finished now. I'm really pleased with the songs and the playing. I've done a mix which I'm not entirely happy with.

There's nothing really wrong with it, but it just doesn't sound as good as it should. So, given that re-mixing it at a studio is going to cost a bit (rather like sitting in a taxi with the meter on), I'm going to re-mix it at Ade's studio over the next few weeks, so we can get a really good sound and not have to worry about time/expense. Ade has very kindly offered his facilities and his own production talents as well. He's a very nice man. Once it's been mixed to our satisfaction, I'll have to decide which tracks to use, finish the sleeve design and get it made. I'd like to get it issued by June, but that might be pushing it a bit, and as Summer is a notoriously bad time to release a new album (people on holiday, colleges empty etc) I reckon it'll probably be coming out in about September. But I'll keep you informed accordingly.

Bevis

Great songwriter, great guitarist, excellent band.terrible sound on all of their albums. Nick Saloman is a very nice guy who in my opinion doesn't know what he is doing in terms of sound in a studio. I have almost all of their albums and have seen them on a fair number of occasions at this point.

I always enjoy, but the news that he is re-mixing his album on his own time with Adrian at Adrian's studio is NOT good news in my opinion. He should get out of the way and let people who know what they are doing record and mix and master his music. Facebook updateNick SalomanI can now reveal that the official release date of the new Bevis album is October 10th. It's called 'The Leaving Of London' and it will be available as a single CD, a ltd edition double vinyl album, and also as a download via i-Tunes. You'll be able to buy the CD and vinyl direct from me.

I'll give you the necessary info in a little while. As you may know, we're gigging in London on Saturday Novem.ber 19th. We'll be doing the Psychedelic Network Festival in Wurzburg on November 26th. I think we're playing in Helsinki at 'Tavastia' on Dec 1st, but I'm not 100% sure yet. It also looks like we'll be in Athens for a show sometime in January.

It's also looking quite probable that there will be a European tour in early 2012. Just listened to the whole new album, Leaving of London, on vinyl on Woronzow. Overall, music is great, but of course I haven't really absorbed it all yet. But fans of Bevis Frond will find it very much in line with prior albums. The vinyl itself is beautifully pressed, all four sides almost perfectly centered, vinyl very quiet, no manufacturing defects, both LPs perfectly flat.

About as good as vinyl gets other than super-specialist pressings. The jacket is OK, but not extravagant - it's not actually a gatefold, just a single wider sleeve to fit the two LPs and the insert with the lyrics. Nothing too awesome about the jacket, but it's perfectly acceptable. And considering how nicely done the LPs themselves are, who cares anyway? The recording itself also sounds noticeably better than most Bevis albums to my ears. It looks like it is 'Engineered by Dave Palmer' and it sounds like he has done a much better job than on normal Bevis albums, which I think Nick himself usually 'engineers'.

Bevis Frond Bandcamp

First and most important, no super-overloaded high end that drives your ears batty and ruins the experience. Second, instruments and vocals are well-integrated for once and sound like a cohesive musical event. So overall a winner, and worth picking up! I don't know about the CD version, but the LP is very nice.
